Veins and fine vessels on the face (telangiectasias) contain blood (Hemoglobin). Hemoglobin absorbs energy at primarily 2 wavelengths. Blood absorbs laser energy primarily at 532 nanometers (nm) and 1, 064 nm. Veins on the face are generally red; whereas those on the legs my be red or blue. Thus, lasers that have these wavelengths will cause the blood in the vessel to coagulate and be absorbed by the body.

As a result, Pender Medi Spa with 8 different lasers is able to reduce and eliminate veins quickly, safely, and effectively.

For diffuse redness of the Face, Pender Medi Spa will often utilize an Impulsed Light laser (IPL) with which we can target the specific concerns of Red discoloration. It is the ability to specifically target the Red of capillaries and the diffuse redness of Rosacea that makes it one of our preferred treatments. Pender Medi Spa’s IPL has the ability to select the appropriate wavelengths (in the range of 1064nm) to target the red and reduce it.

For darker skin types, we prefer Laser Genesis since it is completely safe. Laser Genesis is a soothing treatment that leaves one’s skin feeling much more youthful after just a couple of treatments. It is not unusual for Pender Medi Spa’s Vancouver clientele to fall asleep during this laser therapy. Laser Genesis is safe on all skin types, and is therefore part of our treatment protocol for the treatment of diffuse redness. Our laser head can be converted to a direct 1,064 laser to target specific vessels. Pender Medi Spa’s 1,064 laser can vary the “spot size”, power, and duration of the pulse. These variables allow the skilled laser technicians to accurately treat the vein, based on its’ size and area of the body. It is equipped with a cooling head to make the treatments more comfortable.

For single Red veins Vancouver’s Pender Medi Spa will use the Accutip laser therapy (532nm), which is extremely effective for pinpoint vessels as in “cherry red” spots. It is uncommon for these bright red veins to require more than one treatment for elimination.

There is absolutely no downtime with IPL, Laser Genesis, or the Accutip laser therapy.
