Small scars can often be treated with the filling of the scar with dermal fillers like Juvederm or Restylane. A series of Laser Genesis laser treatments will also be effective. This is a very soothing laser treatment that involves absolutely no downtime.

Raised Scars | Dermal Filler and Laser Treatment
Raised scars are often called “keloid” scars. They are more common in individuals who have dark skin. However, there are some fair skinned individuals who also form keloid scars. Unfortunately, even minor trauma can result in raised keloid scars, in these predisposed individuals. Since it is an overreaction of the body’s immune system; injections of Cortisone by Dr. Bieg is often very effective in treating them.
Laser Genesis and Microdermabrasion
Deeper scars often require a combination of the above modalities. Our Pearl Fractional laser is ideal for deep scars such as the “Ice-Pick” scars from Severe Acne. For minor scars after Chicken Pox (Varicella) or milder Acne the regular gentle Pearl laser is usually sufficient. A Pender Medi Spa we often combine Laser Genesis with the Pearl laser for the optimum treatment of scars.
