The skin will often reveal Sun damage many years after the skin was exposed to the harmful rays of Sun exposure. Pigmentation changes and loose Skin are some of the conditions that we commonly see. Our laser clinic in Vancouver has a variety of different lasers that are appropriate for the pigmentation changes caused by the Sun. Because of our numerous skin lasers; we have a suitable laser for every Skin type; whether it is Fair or Darker due to ethnicity.

My Cedar stained deck that is always in the shade, does not require staining for several years; whilst that portion in the Sun requires staining every summer. It is not hard to imagine that our Skin suffers so much Sun damage.

Our preferred laser therapy for Vancouverite’s with significantly Sun damaged skin is the Pearl. This laser therapy is usually done only once or twice. The Skin is completely refreshed with a dramatic improvement in Sun damage
The downtime is approximately 4 days but does vary, depending on the depth of the treatment required.
For the discoloration, fine lines, and increased pore size of Sun damaged skin, we generally prefer Pender Medi Spa’s gentler lasers. We will often utilize an Impulsed Light laser (IPL) with which we can target the specific concerns of Red or Brown discoloration, as a result of Sun damage. Previous sun damage will often result in brown lesions often many years after the sun exposure. It will often be more prominent on sun exposed areas on the forehead, cheeks, and chest. Pender Medi Spa’s state of the art IPL laser therapy can select the appropriate wavelength for the Sun-related spot, whether it is a red or brown lesion.
For improvement of fine lines, texture, scars, and pore size we often utilize our Laser Genesis. Laser Genesis is a soothing treatment that leaves one’s skin feeling much more youthful after just a couple of treatments. It is not unusual for Pender Medi Spa’s Vancouver clientele to fall asleep during this laser therapy. Laser Genesis is safe on all skin types, and is therefore part of our treatment protocol for the treatment of Sun damage (the darkening of Cheeks often secondary to pregnancy and/or sun exposure). Our laser head is not only for Sun damage reversal, but is also the laser used to treat fungal infections of the nails.
For single Red or Brown lesions Vancouver’s Pender Medi Spa will occasionally use the Accutip laser therapy which is extremely effective for pinpoint Sun damage.
There is absolutely no downtime with IPL, Laser Genesis, or the Accutip laser therapy.
