Theraputic Botox Injections Vancouver
Medical Treatment
Botox® Theraputic
Botox was initially used for therapeutic purposes and was accidentally discovered to have beneficial cosmetic results in wrinkle reduction. As a recognized trainer for Botox Cosmetic, Dr. Bieg also successfully uses Botox injections in his Vancouver clinic to treat medical ailments.
The Medical Services Plan (MSP) in British Columbia will often pay for the cost of the Botox Therapeutic for the following conditions: -Blepharospasm which is the twitching of the muscles around the eye. -Spasmodic Torticollis which is a painful tightening of the muscles in the neck.
Dr. Bieg of Physician Skincare & Training Centre and Pender Medi Spa has successfully treated these conditions on numerous occasions.
Many other conditions are covered by third party insurers like Blue Cross and Manulife, such as Hyperhidrosis and Migraine headaches.
Hyperhidrosis is a condition of excess sweating not responsive to other products. It can be socially debilitating. Although we caution that the treatment may need to be repeated every 6 months; most of Dr. Bieg’s patients return for treatments once a year. The cost of the Botox Therapeutic is virtually always covered by Insurance companies.
The most common headaches are actually Migraines. These headaches are often misdiagnosed because they may not be as severe and debilitating as some Migraine headaches. It is estimated that 40% of Adults suffer from Migraines.
The FDA in the United States has recently approved the use of Botox Therapeutic for the treatment of Headaches. Dr. Bieg is hopeful that Health & Welfare Canada will soon also approve the use of Botox Therapeutic for Headaches. Dr. Bieg has been using Botox for headache treatments and thus far has an average success rate of 90% in eliminating or reducing the severity and frequency of headaches. Most insurance companies will cover the cost of the Botox Therapeutic and occasionally the injection fee as well.
Dr. Bieg uses Botox to treat Bruxism (grinding teeth), and Temporo-Mandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction.
Dr. Bieg also injects Botox to improve the terrible pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia
Botox injection treatment in the Vancouver clinic takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to perform. Dr. Bieg uses an individual fine needle for each injection site so that there is very little discomfort associated with the procedure. In fact, one may resume normal activities immediately following.
Dr. Bieg offers these services at the Pender Medi Spa in Vancouver and at the Physician Skincare & Training Centre in North Vancouver.
