Dr. Ralph Bieg

Dr. Bieg graduated from the University of Alberta in 1986 with an Honors degree in Physiology and Doctor of Medicine. After two years of post-graduate studies he became Board-certified in the field of Family Medicine.

Dr. Bieg began his medical career as an Emergency Room Physician with a busy full service Family Practice including Obstetrics. In 1992 he moved back to his roots in North Vancouver, British Columbia. He started the Lonsdale & 19th Medical Clinic at that time which has become one of the busiest Medical Clinics in Vancouver.

Dr. Bieg has pursued his interest in Cosmetic Dermatology since 1999. He is a member of the Canadian Medical Association, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, The Canadian Association in Aesthetic Medicine, as well as the European Society for Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology.

Dr. Bieg constantly attends conferences and workshops where he shares his knowledge and gains expertise from the foremost injectors of Botox and Fillers in North America.

He’s a member of the Face Institute and recognized trainer for Botox Cosmetic, Juvederm and Restylane; having trained hundreds of Doctors from across North America in using the Science of Botox and Fillers to enhance the Art of beauty.

Dr. Bieg has been pursuing his passion of Esthetic Medicine since 1999. He is the Medical Director of: Physician Training Centre, Physician Skincare Centre, and Pender Medi Spa.

 

DR. DINA BALANCE, ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DOCTOR

Dr. Ballance obtained her Doctor of Medicine from Memorial University in 1997. She spent five years in residency training and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2002 with a specialty in Psychiatry. She graduated with a Masters degree in Clinical Epidemiology in 2003.

During her Psychiatry training, she worked as an emergency room physician and at family doctor walk-in clinics. She then returned home to Vancouver Island where she has worked at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, and West Coast General Hospital.

Dr. Ballance trained with Dr. Bieg at the Physician Training Centre in 2007, and has returned to upgrade her skills. She ran her own part-time cosmetic practice in Nanaimo before coming to join Dr. Bieg in 2010 at the Physician Skincare Centre and is now thrilled to be joining him at Pender Medi Spa. Her special interest is in the “artistic” side of aesthetic medicine where she gets to use her creative eye. She has attended art courses at Vancouver Island University and continues to enjoy painting at every opportunity.

 

SHIVANI SARSTHI, REGISTERED MASSAGE THERAPIST

Shivani Sarsthi graduated in 2010 with her diploma in Registered Massage Therapy. She is currently an active registrant with the College of Massage Therapist Association of British Columbia.

Prior to her Career in massage therapy, Shivani’s academics at Simon Fraser University focused on Cell and Molecular Biology, which presented her with a new gaze on life at the molecular level and inspired her with an appreciation of life’s complexity and synergy.

This perspective compliments her long-held belief in understanding the origin or foundation of something before treating it as a whole. She applies this approach to her practice as a Massage Therapist, and promotes a multi-disciplinary approach in her level of care.

Shivani is passionate about empowering her patients, giving them an active approach toward maintenance of their overall health.

 

SONA NARSES – CERTIFIED BODYWORK PRACTITIONER

Sona brings a wealth of experience and passion to the field of Bodywork and Massage with a unique focus on, “inner wellness, and providing the body, mind, & spirit with space to achieve its own natural balance.”

Sona is a graduate of the Vancouver School of Bodywork & Massage with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto, and a Counselling Certificate from the Canadian College of Counsellor Training. She has an extensive background working in the Mental Health Field & believes that as individuals, each of us is the expert of our own experience, and that ailments of the Mind and Spirit frequently manifest themselves through the medium of the body. Thus, Sona’s aim is to provide a holistic experience with Bodywork that is both deeply therapeutic but also honours an individual’s inner and outer being.
